TOI asked coaching centres in the city if many more students have made similar complaints. Karan, a teacher at KeyCampus, said, “Ever since the answer key was released, many of my students have pointed out discrepancies in the answer key. And these are not just one or two errors, but there are errors in the keys for almost all subjects.”
“The toppers of my batch have given 10-15 wrong answers. We even matched their answers with NCERT answers and found that the answer key was wrong,” Karan said.
A teacher from Unimonks, which prepares students for CUET, said the most complaints about discrepancies are in respect of Sociology in Humanities stream, Accounts in Commerce and Mathematics in Science. “Many students claim they want to challenge the answer key, but challenging each answer will cost Rs 200, and not all students can do it for all their papers. This is why it is important that the NTA looks into these complaints and corrects the answer key,” said Dr Arvind. As per NTA rules, students can challenge the provisional answer key till July 9 at a cost of Rs 200 per question.
