No change in CBSE syllabus, board issues clarification regarding textbooks

central board of secondary education Education, CBSE CBSE has issued clarification regarding textbook and syllabus. According to the notice issued by the board on March 22, CBSE has reiterated that there has been no change in the textbook or syllabus for classes other than class 3 and 6. The board has directed schools to continue using the same textbooks as in the previous academic year (2023-24).

CBSE issued a clarification on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “CBSE Circular No. Acad 29/2024 dated 22nd March 2024 may be referred to. In order to avoid any misunderstanding and for greater clarity, it is reiterated that there is no change in the existing syllabus or textbooks for all classes other than 3 and 6. Schools are once again instructed to continue using the same textbooks for these classes as they did in the previous academic year (2023-24).”

There is no change in CBSE syllabus

Apart from classes 3 and 5, the CBSE board syllabus for other classes remains the same as last year. In a notice issued in March, CBSE had said that there will be no change in the syllabus and textbooks for other classes in the academic year 2024-24 starting from April 1.

“As a result, schools are advised to follow these new curriculum and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 in place of the textbooks published by NCERT by the year 2023. Additionally, a bridge course for class 6 and brief guidelines for class 3 are being developed by NCERT to facilitate a seamless transition of students to new pedagogical practices and areas of study aligned with NCF-SE 2023. These resources will be disseminated online to all schools once received from NCERT,” reads the CBSE notice about class 3 and 5 curriculum change.
