Chandrababu’s administration has become even more assertive in ruling Andhra Pradesh. Important decisions are being taken one after another regarding the programs of the previous administration. Many programs have already been renamed by the new administration. For the YSR Kalyanamastu scheme, Chandranna was renamed as wedding gift. To encourage inter-caste marriages, the Andhra Pradesh government launched the Chandranna Pelli Kanuka scheme. Under this scheme, residents of the state will get financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh in exchange for marrying a person from another caste and stepping out of their caste.

The funds allocated for assistance under this program will be deposited in the bank accounts of the people who apply. With the implementation of this program, children from economically deprived families of the state will be able to get married without any financial difficulties. Eligibility Criteria for Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme 2024

Applicants applying for the scheme must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • To avail the benefits of this scheme, the age of the bride should be 18 years and the age of the groom should be 21 years.
  • The bride and groom must have passed 10th class.
  • The family income of the bride and groom should not exceed Rs 10,000 in rural areas, while in urban areas it should not exceed Rs 15,000.
  • The applicant citizen should not have any type of car.
  • No member of the applicant citizen’s family should be employed in a government job or should not file income tax.
  • The citizen applying must have all the required documents.
  • The bride and the prospective groom must belong to different castes; it is an inter-caste marriage.

Steps to Apply for Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme 2024

To apply for the scheme the user needs to follow the below steps:

  • The homepage of the website will open
  • Click on apply button
  • The application form will open
  • Now, fill the form with all the required details
  • After that upload all the required documents
  • Then click on submit button
  • After submission of completely filled application form, it will be forwarded to the concerned authority for verification.
  • If the applicants are selected for the program the financial aid will be deposited into their bank accounts.

Chandranna Pelli Kanuka Scheme Working Process

  • Thirty days after the wedding, the bride and groom must apply for the scheme by visiting the DA/WEDPS at the Secretariat, or they can complete the application on the official website.
  • WEA/WWDS will receive both online and hard copy applications.
  • KYC of the bride, groom and mother of the bride will be completed by WEA/WWDS, along with regional verification and uploading of required paperwork.
  • The application will be sent to MPDO/MC after WEA/WWDS verification.
  • Every document and observation made by WEA/WWDS will be verified by the MPDO/MC. After proper verification, the application will be forwarded by the MPDO/MC to the PD-DRDA.
  • After verification of the documents, PD-DRDA will forward the application for six-step verification.
  • After the six-step verification process, the application form and applicants will be forwarded to the District Collector’s office.
  • After getting the permission of the District Collectors, the application will be forwarded to the appropriate State Welfare Corporations.
  • The concerned corporations will arrange for payments to the mothers of the bride, whenever necessary.
