Elgin Sing-Along Messiah

The Elgin Sing-Along Messiah is accepting applications for charitable partnerships for its upcoming winter performances.

To qualify, the charity must provide food, housing, or shelter to people in need in Elgin, Illinois, and be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Interested charities can apply online www.elginsing-alongmessiah.orgThe deadline to apply is Friday, July 12.

The Elgin Sing-Along Messiah is an interactive event organized by a committee of Elgin area community members that showcases the talents of local singers and musicians, including the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, and includes the audience as active participants in the chorus.

The Dec. 6 event is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the start of the holiday season, sing songs and give back to the community. The concert will take place at Elgin Community College’s Blizzard Theatre at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event, combined with voluntary donations, support selected local charities.

The sing-along began in 2022 and has raised more than $3,500 for Food for Greater Elgin. Last year, the Elgin Sing-Along Messiah gave more than $5,500 to Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Fox Valley.

Tickets for the sing-along go on sale in September. For more information, visit here and follow @ElginSingAlongMessiah More on Instagram GreaterElginsingAlongMessiah On Facebook.
