CUET UG 2024: NTA announces possible retest


The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key of the exam. CUET and 2024 Candidates have time till June 9, 5 pm, to raise objections regarding the key and conduct of the exam.

If the complaints raised by the students are found to be valid, the NTA is planning to conduct a re-exam from July 15 to 19, 2024. This is after the controversy over the early release of NEET UG 2024 results and the demand for a re-exam.

CBI investigation into the paper leak case

More than 13.4 lakh candidates are registered, hence the exam is getting delayed. CUET & Result This is in contrast to the premature release of NEET UG results, which was marred by allegations of irregularities such as inflated top scores and wrong questions. Following this, the NTA postponed other exams including UGC NET, CSIR UGC NET and NCET, leading to a high-level government committee and CBI probe into the alleged paper leak.

The CUET UG exam, held in a hybrid format for the first time, had to be cancelled in Delhi and Kanpur due to logistical and paper distribution issues respectively. The NTA conducted the exam in pen-and-paper mode for 15 subjects and computer-based mode for 48 subjects to simplify the normalisation process.

In related news, the Centre has also postponed NEET PG and announced new exam dates for the postgraduate medical entrance exam conducted by NBEMS.

CUET UG serves as the entrance examination for admission at the undergraduate level in Central Government Universities across the country.
