CLAT 2025: What is this exam?

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) there is one National Level Entrance ExamAdministered by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). This exam is conducted once every year for admission. 5-year Integrated LLB (UG) and One-year LLM (PG) courses. This exam is conducted to get admission in 24 NLUs for UG courses and 21 NLUs for PG courses. Offline mode i.e. pen and paperThe CLAT exam consists of subjects or topics related to the following Legal Aptitude, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, English, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning.

Admission to National Law Universities (NLU) is based on the CLAT score obtained by the candidate. However, there are colleges other than NLU that accept admission based on the CLAT performance of the candidate.

CLAT 2025: UG Programme Education Eligibility

Candidates who wish to take admission into the undergraduate programme (five-year integrated law degree) at National Law Universities (NLUs) must possess the following educational qualifications:

Candidates must have passed minimum 10+2 examination:

  • 45% Mark Both exams from a recognized board or equivalent grade.
  • 40% Lower caste candidates must obtain minimum 100 marks. (SC/ST/Divyang) In both the exams.
  • Comment: candidates appearing in qualifying examination March/April 2025are also eligible to register for CLAT 2025.

CLAT 2025: PG Programme Education Eligibility

Candidates who wish to take admission into the Postgraduate Programme (One Year LLM Degree) at National Law Universities (NLUs) must possess the following educational qualifications:

Candidate must possess LLB degree or equivalent examination with minimum:

  • 50% Mark LL.B Or Equivalent Examination.
  • 45% Lower caste candidates must obtain minimum 100 marks. (SC/ST/Divyang),
  • Comment: candidates appearing in qualifying examination March/April 2025are also eligible to register for CLAT 2025.

CLAT 2025: Application Fee

Application fee to register for CLAT 2025 exam for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

  • For General Category Candidates= Rs. 4,000/-
  • For SC/ST/PWD/BPL candidates= Rs. 3,500/-
