CUET UG answer key to be released in 3-4 days: Exam body source

CUET UG 2024 Result: According to sources in the National Testing Agency (NTA), the provisional answer key of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is expected to be released in the next 3-4 days. The answer key, originally scheduled for June 30, has been delayed as the NTA aims to release an error-free version. The final result will be released after any objections raised by students are addressed.

The delay has caused anxiety among the 9,68,201 students who took the exam between May 15 and 29 as they await their results. 14,90,293 students had registered for CUET this year, including 6,60,311 female candidates.

Expressing her disappointment, CUET UG candidate Madhulika Joshi told NDTV, “We are very disappointed. We took the exam more than a month ago, and we still haven’t received the provisional answer key. This is really worrying.”

Ms Joshi also highlighted the issue of mismanagement during the examination and said, “There was a problem of wastage of time at the examination centre.”

Echoing these sentiments, another student Yashi Singh said, “Students are forced to look for admission options in private universities. This is the failure of the examination body. The confidence of students has been shaken due to the mismanagement of the examination body, which has been going on for the past one year.”

Ms Singh also pointed out various problems faced by students, including inconvenient location of exam centres, long waiting lines and last-minute issuance of admit cards. “It is really difficult to maintain faith in the exam body. We expect fair results,” she said.

Former education secretary Vrinda Swaroop advised students to be patient and stressed the importance of accurate and error-free results despite the delay. “It is okay that there is a delay in releasing the answer keys, but when the results come, they should be authentic and error-free,” she said.

Addressing concerns about restoring students’ confidence in the testing agency, Ms Swarup said, “The NTA needs to conduct a decent exam, with city notification and admit cards released on time.”

This year, NTA conducted the CUET-UG exams in hybrid mode (CBT and pen-paper) at 379 locations. CUET is a national level exam required for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various central and participating universities. A total of 261 universities will accept CUET UG 2024 scores.
