If the complaint raised by CUET-UG candidates is found to be valid, NTA will conduct re-examination for them

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct re-examination for CUET-UG candidates during July 15-19 if their complaints about the exam are found to be true.

The NTA has also released the answer key of the undergraduate entrance exam, which candidates can challenge till 6 pm on July 9. The verified challenges will be reviewed by subject experts and the results will be released based on the revised answer key.

The delay in the CUET-UG results comes amid controversies over alleged irregularities in competitive exams like NEET and NET. Held in hybrid mode for the first time, CUET-UG had its exam cancelled in Delhi the night before due to logistical issues and was later rescheduled.

The NTA had earlier announced that the third edition of CUET-UG will be completed in seven days and there will be no normalization of marks as all the exams will be conducted in a single shift.

The exams for 15 subjects were in pen-paper mode, while the other 48 were computer-based. Over 13.4 lakh candidates had registered for the exams to get admission in 261 universities.

The first edition of the exam held in 2022 was marred by technical glitches. Also, as the exam for one subject was conducted in multiple shifts, the marks had to be normalised during the declaration of the result.

Amid alleged irregularities in NEET and NET, the government recently removed NTA Director General Subodh Singh and formed a high-level panel led by former ISRO chief R Radhakrishnan to ensure fair conduct of the exams. Both NEET and NET are under the scanner of the CBI for suspected paper leaks and compromised integrity.

While NEET is under investigation for several irregularities, including an alleged paper leak, UGC-NET was cancelled after the education ministry received inputs that the sanctity of the exam had been compromised. Both cases are being investigated by the CBI.
