UPSC CSE Prelims 2024: Result released on upsc.gov.in; Know how to check your result

UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024 The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results today. Candidates can check and download their results from the official website of the commission, upsc.gov.in.

Applicants who qualify for the UPSC Civil Services Exam (Preliminary) 2024 can appear for the UPSC Main Exam (Written Exam). Candidates who qualify the UPSC Preliminary and Main Exam are eligible to attend the UPSC interview for final selection for various posts and services.

The number of attempts allotted to candidates from OBC and PwBD categories is nine, while candidates from SC and ST categories will be given relaxation in the number of attempts allotted. It is worth noting that UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 was held on June 16 at various exam centers across the country.

UPSC Prelims Result 2024: What Next?

The shortlisted candidates will have to re-apply in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the present Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. The Commission while announcing the CSE preliminary examination result said that the dates and guidelines for filling up and submitting the DAF-I will be announced soon on the official website of UPSC.

As per the UPSC schedule, the commission will conduct the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024 in September 2024.


UPSC Prelims Result: Marking Pattern

There were two objective type (multiple choice) question papers for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, each carrying a maximum marks of 400.

The UPSC had earlier said that it will prepare the list of candidates qualified for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination based on the criteria of minimum 33% qualifying marks in General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination and absolute qualifying marks in General Studies Paper-I of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.

The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination is to fill 1,056 vacancies in various central government services and departments, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), including 40 seats reserved for the persons with benchmark disability category. The number of vacancies has come down compared to last year when the commission had filled 1,105 posts.
