IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2023 & Exam Pattern
IBPS Clerk exam is no different from any other bank exam. While IBPS releases only broad topics, they can be sub-divided into individual topics based on the questions that have appeared in the exams over the years. IBPS Clerk syllabus consists of two papers. There is no interview for IBPS Clerk exam.
(i) IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Syllabus
IBPS Clerk Prelims Syllabus broadly comprises of three sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.
(ii) IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus
IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus broadly comprises of four sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and A Excessive section Computer Knowledge & General Awareness.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in IBPS Exam 2023.
IBPS Clerk 2023 Prelims Exam Pattern
IBPS preliminary exam is of 100 marks of 1 hour duration with 20 minutes for each section.
- The preliminary stage of IBPS PO will consist of three sections of total duration of 1 hour each.
- There will be a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Candidates will have to qualify in each of the three exams by securing minimum cut-off marks for each section individually to be decided by IBPS.
- Based on the requirements, sufficient number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

There are 190 questions in IBPS Clerk Mains Exam which need to be completed in the time limit of 160 minutes.
- IBPS Clerk Mains Exam will have a total of 190 questions with a duration of 160 minutes.
- The IBPS Clerk exam will have four sections with different sectional timings for mains.
- Earlier, the Computer Aptitude & Reasoning Ability The sections were conducted separately. But, as per the recent update by IBPS, a total of 50 marks have been made by combining these two sections.
