OSSC Junior Executive Assistant Selection Process:

OSSC Junior Executive Assistant selection will be done on the following basis:-

  • Language Test in English and Odia
  • typing test in english
  • test in computer applications

OSSC Junior Executive Assistant Exam Syllabus & Scheme of Exam:

The Recruitment Test in respect of Junior Executive Assistant will consist of the following tests –

Language Test in English and Odia (100 Marks) -60 Minutes

(i) Working knowledge of English in English language only will be tested (50 marks) – 30 minutes

(ii) Odia- Working knowledge will be tested in Odia language only (50 marks) – 30 minutes

(b) To test working knowledge in English and Odia, correct spelling of words in question, fill in the blanks of most appropriate words, correct grammatical mistakes in given sentences, words with opposite meaning to a given Selecting will be involved. Group of words and punctuate a passage. The language test in English and Odia will be of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) type with 30 minutes duration each paper.

(c) Marks obtained in the language test in English and Odia will not be counted for ranking. Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in this examination as may be prescribed by the Commission at its discretion, will be shortlisted for the Typing Test in English.

B. Typing Test in English (MS Word) (50 Marks) -10 Minutes

(b) One (1) mark shall be awarded for every eight correctly typed words and the minimum qualifying marks in the Typing Test shall be 20 (twenty) marks.

(c) A candidate who will not appear in the Typing Test will not be allowed to appear in the Test in Computer Application.

c. Test in Computer Application (70 Marks) = 60 Minutes

(a) MS Office Excel (25 Marks) Candidates will be asked questions related to working knowledge of MS Office – Excel such as cell formatting (like bold, underline, date, number etc.) and formulas (sub-total, total), percentage etc. ). They have to work on the same using MS-Office (Excel).

(b) MS Office Power Point (25 Marks) Candidates will be asked questions related to working knowledge of MS Office – Power Point and they have to work it using MS-Office (Power Point).

(c) Internet and E-mail (20 marks) Candidates will be asked questions on the basic functions and features of Internet and E-mail and are to be answered using MS Office-Word. After completion of the Test in Computer Application, all worksheets will be submitted by the examinees for evaluation. (d) Candidates having approximately 10 (ten) times the number of vacancies advertised category wise will be shortlisted for Typing Test in English on the basis of their performance in the Language Test.

Venue & Date of OSSC Junior Executive Assistant Written Exam:

  • The tentative date for the language test will be between 15 October 2022 to 15 November 2022. The exact date, time and venue will be intimated and/or through the admit card in due course.
  • The date, time and venue of the Typing Test and Test in Computer Application and Certificate Verification will be intimated to the eligible candidates in the Admit Card(s). Eligible candidates may download the admit card from the website of the Commission from time to time.

Preparation of Final Merit List for OSSC JEA:

Regarding the number of candidates 2 (two) times Candidates will be shortlisted category wise for certificate verification on the basis of aggregate marks in the Typing Test in English and Test in Computer Application taken together in the order of merit.
